Obedient Faith. Part 1
Hebrews 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise
Beloved, it is very important to live by faith by basing our lives on the revealed words of God. The Christian way...the Bible way...God's way for us...is the faith way. We have never seen God, or The Lord Jesus Christ, or heaven or hell, or the Holy Spirit. We have never seen any of the people who wrote the Bible. Yet we live in the conviction of these things by faith. We bank our earthly life and our eternal destiny on things which we have never seen. That is the way the people of God have always lived!
If we are going to have TOUGH FAITH FOR TOUGH TIMES then we must have a faith that will be obedient to God in those tough times. Obedience to the word of God is proof that you are a real child of God, born again by the Spirit of God. This will equally usher us into spiritual maturity. This will help us to completely wait on God as we grow in His word and grow in the power of our faith. It's what you endure that reveals what you are. I want to say that again, it's what you endure that reveals what you are!!!
As a genuine Christian, we are expected to obey God in tough times. I have learnt to depend more on God and trust him wholeheartedly for whatever situation I find myself in.., and God has never failed my expectations.
What I have noticed over the years with some believers is that we claim to be saved when things are going great, but when things take a turn for the worst we give up on God and the Church. We don’t worship again until the crisis is over.
A genuine Christian must know that without God they can't and won't make it. They are totally dependent upon God for strength and guidance. They know that they have a responsibility to obey God in spite of the tough times. I will like to encourage you all today to remain in the source of your foundation, for through it all you will be daily watered, and flourish even in the times of your trouble and afflictions.
Shalom
