Obedient Faith Part 2

There are three things to be learnt about OBEDIENT FAITH..,The first is:

1. OBEDIENT FAITH IS COMMITTED TO THE CALL OF GOD.
(The Dedication of Faith) Heb. 11:8 & Gen 12:1&4 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

There are three ingredients to this kind of faith. The first is revelation

God Spoke: God must speak before you can have faith. God took the initiative to speak to Abraham. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

Separation: Leaving our comfort zone and going by faith based on the spoken word of God. There are times that we attach too much sentiment to dead situation and things. These things had become a stronghold of dependence to the point that we no longer trust in God’s words to let go. Whenever we behave in this manner, we are simply acting by sight and not by faith.

Ask yourself now.., 'What are the things I need to separate myself from' Friends, families, Job, Business..,? At times it's painful to separate, but very needful. We read about two people that found in very difficult to separate from their families and comfort zone. One excused himself to go bury his father before taking up his cross; the other could not even entertain the thought of himself wandering about without the comfort of a home. The sad thing is we never heard anything about these two any longer in the scriptures.

Matt 8:19-23
19 Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go." 20 Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." 21 Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." 22 But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead." 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. NIV.

Note that Jesus only entered into the boat with his disciples! Are you also constantly missing the boat to you God given destiny because of constant hesitation?

Action: Departure, Not knowing where he was going. This simply means that those of us trusting God must be willing to not just hear His words.., but have faith enough to walk in light by the spoken word of God. And also the need to let go of strongholds and crouches we have held on to for too long. These things can contribute to a stronghold that hinders our movements by faith.

Stepping into the unknown. When you are walking by faith, at some point God is going to speak to you and call you to step out by faith and go somewhere or do something even though you won't be able to see around the next corner.

Please as you go out this week I want you to keep this to heart.., God is going to call you to "Advance By Faith, Not By Sight."
Shalom
